Lara Logan

Jon's interview with Lara Logan last night was very interesting. She took the U.S. media to task including her own bosses for letting coverage of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars drop off the radar. At one point, she called American news essentially for the braindead - vs. international broadcasts. She also faults Americans for losing touch with what's happening there. She asks why Americans have never seen an image of a dead American soldier.

Sadly for me, Wikipedia says she's married.

I found Lara Logan very inspiring.

And yeah, she's drop dead gorgeous. You could tell Jon was kind of giddy over her. But who wouldn't be?

Jeff

Was she gorgeous? I couldn't stop paying attention to her brain and her anti-establishment 'tude.

Her 'tude just adds to the hotness, Jeff.

Your comment, however, (if serious) does provide me with a little more hope in humanity. ;)

Jess

I just finished writing a paper on pretty much exactly this (the challenges of modern war reporting), so I was really fascinated by what she had to say. I suppose the question that leaves me wondering is, how much do we blame the media for failing to keep us informed as it reacts to public demand, competing for superiority with umpteen other networks vying for our attention and umpteen hundred other stories that people want to hear, and how much do we blame ourselves, for failing to show interest in a war *we* started, for failing to take the media to task, for failing to demand the coverage they're not showing us?

Jeff

She is kinda hot, huh. Yeah, I guess you're right. But I'm a man of principles and would never hit on a married woman, no matter how much 'tude she has.

Even if I'm not worthy nor tall enough for her (or did Stewart's shortness just make her look to tall for me.)

Jeff

sorry, too tall.
