Early Oscar Reviews
Stewart Opens Oscars With Post Strike Humor - Political satirist Jon Stewart returned as Oscar host on Sunday with
a slew of jokes about the bitter Hollywood writers' strike that had
threatened the show and the grim, violent themes of many of the films.
"Tonight we look beyond the dark days to focus on happier fare -- this year's slate of Oscar-nominated psychopathic killer movies," Stewart dead-panned, adding "Does this town need a hug?"
Jon Stewart's Best Oscar Night Gags - "Normally when you see a black man or a woman president, an asteroid is about to hit the Statue of Liberty."
Jon Stewart Gets A "B" For His Opener - Well, at least Jon Stewart is more relaxed this time. Two years ago it was painful watching him punch the jokes too hard and this time he had many more specifically aimed at members of the audience with whom he has little in common.
Stewart Rules The Night - Javier Bardem in "No Country," Stewart said, combined "Hannibal Lecter's murderousness with Dorothy Hamill's wedge-cut."
Characters from Stewart's day job weren't ignored.
Commenting on Julie Christie's work in "Away from Her," Stewart said, "It was a moving story of a woman who forgets her own husband. Hillary Clinton called it the feel-good movie of the year."
Many americans don't know about the 35 counts against Bush. The news doesn't even say anything about it. For the goverment to find so many counts against him and not impeach him...makes it seem as if the congress should be impeached then!! I wish Jon Stewart or his people would sponsor commercials stating the fact about the 35 counts and how the constitution is a contract with the peoples' voices expressed through the government. CNN did a study with 70,000 americans asking if they think Bush should be impeached. 89% said YES! The contract has failed we the people don't matter and ovbiviouly nether does the congress. Due to 35 counts presented and all fail... I wish Jon Stewart was president

Our government is so curruped that we can have a hitler for president. He even allowed little children to be tortured with harm to their testicles. Have 14 year olds turtured in camps. Allowed 9/11 to happen because he works with the terrorist to make more money. What can we the people do? Live in a country that just cares about making money and hurting the people. We have the most money but our people are the sickest. Because of health care. We need your voice to make 'truth' commercials PLEASE. We can't have Hitler for president. I don't care if his term is almost up its the principal of the matter. What message are we showing the world. How weak our people are!! Health care proves that!!
